The foundation
FORMATION
On May 18, 2018 our community was struck by an unimaginable tragedy. A mass shooter entered the art rooms in Santa Fe High School and killed 8 students and 2 teachers. The Santa Fe Ten Memorial Foundation was formed for the purpose of designing and building a permanent memorial in honor of the Ten lives lost that day. Our nonprofit corporation is independent from the Santa Fe Independent School District (SFISD), and our governing board is comprised of family directors, community directors, school teachers, counselors and coaches that worked with or taught the Ten. All Ten families were invited to participate in the mission of the foundation.
